George Fredric Clarence Jackson (also spelt Frederic and seldom Frederick; 5 July 1907 – 24 December 1990) was anAnglicanbishop[1] in the second half of the 20th century.[2]
Educated at theUniversity of Toronto andordained in 1935,[3] his first post was acuracy atErin, Ontario. After this he heldincumbencies inHalton Hills[4] andHalton Hills. He was then appointedDean before being madeBishop ofQu'Appelle.[5] In 1970 he was electedMetropolitan of Rupert's Land andArchbishop ofQu’Appelle. He concurrently held the post of Bishop Ordinary to the Armed Forces and also served theRoyal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) training centre, frequently conducting services in its chapel. Upon his retirement, he lived at the resort community of Katepwa onKatepwa Lake in theQu'Appelle Valley and served as mayor of the community for several years. His and his wife's son Michael Jackson[6] has for many years been and remains[7] a Deacon at St Paul's Cathedral, Regina.
