Francisco de la Cámara y Raya was born inGranada,Spain and ordained a priest in theOrder of Preachers.[4] On November 27, 1612,Pope Paul V, appointed himBishop of Panamá.[1][4] In 1614, he was consecrated bishop byJuan Bartolomé de Bohorquez e Hinojosa,Bishop of Coro.[4] He served as Bishop of Panamá until his death on August 18, 1624.[1][4]
