His filmLos atracadores was entered into the12th Berlin International Film Festival.[1] His 1963 filmLos Tarantos was nominated for anAcademy Award in theBest Foreign Film category.[2] Four years later, his filmEl amor brujo was also nominated for the Best Foreign Language Oscar[3] and was entered into the5th Moscow International Film Festival.[4]
