Francesco Massaro (born 1935) is an Italian director and screenwriter.
Born inPadua, Massaro started his career as assistant director ofLuchino Visconti'sThe Leopard. In the 1960s, he began to collaborate with eminent directors such asPietro Germi,Dino Risi andLucio Fulci.[1] He made his debut as a director in 1972, with thecommedia all'italianaIl generale dorme in piedi, then directed a number of comedy films and TV series with good success.[1]
