Fréhel (French pronunciation:[fʁe.ɛl];Breton:Frehel;Gallo:Fèrhaèu) is acommune in theCôtes-d'Armordepartment ofBrittany in northwesternFrance.

This commune was previously named Pléhérel. Between 1973 and 2004, the commune ofPlévenon was merged with Pléhérel and the combination of the two took the name of Fréhel,[3] drawn from the name ofCap Fréhel, on which both communes were located. However, in 2004, Plévenon became once again a distinct commune,[4] while Pléhérel retained the name of Fréhel for the commune.
