Fossa GAA is aGaelic Athletic Association club located inFossa,County Kerry,Ireland. The club is concerned with the game ofGaelic football. It is a member of theEast Kerry GAA board.[1]

History

Located four miles west ofKillarney,County Kerry, Fossa GAA Club was founded on 11 January 1970.[2] The club leased a field from the nearbyLiebherr firm in 1972 and the following year fielded its first team in the East Kerry League and Championship and in Division 4 of the County League.[3] Fossa won their first championship in 2016, winning theKerry Junior Championship.[4]

Fossa won theKerry Premier Junior title in 2022, beating Listry in the final after extra-time.[5] They went on to claim theMunster Junior title after wins overCastlemahon in the semi-final andKilmurry in the final.[6][7] On 15 January 2023, Fossa facedStewartstown Harps atCroke Park in theAll-Ireland final. Fossa won by 0–19 to 1–13 in a bad-tempered game which featured six red cards.[8]

In Fossa's first year in theKerry Intermediate Championship in 2023, they reached the final after a penalty shoot-out win overAustin Stacks.[9] Fossa lost the final by a point toMilltown/Castlemaine[10]
