Football Bourg-en-Bresse Péronnas 01 (French:[futbolbuʁk‿ɑ̃bʁɛspeʁɔnazeʁoœ̃]), also known asFBBP 01 (French:[ɛf.be.be.pezeʁoœ̃]) andFC Bourg-Péronnas, is a Frenchassociation football team founded in 1942. They are based inBourg-en-Bresse,Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France and currently play inChampionnat National from 2024–25, the third tier of theFrench football league system. They play at theStade Marcel-Verchère inBourg-en-Bresse, which has a capacity of 11,400.
On 23 May 2015, the club was promoted toLigue 2 for the first time in their history by virtue of being a point ahead ofStrasbourg following their 2–0 victory overUS Boulogne. After being the first football club inAin participating in theNational 2 in 1994, 21 years later, FC Bourg-Péronnas were the first football club of thedepartment to play at the professional level.[1]
In July 2015, the club changed their name toFootball Bourg-en-Bresse Péronnas 01, coinciding with their promotion to Ligue 2.
The club was relegated at the end of the2017–18 Ligue 2 season, after losing the relegation play-off toGrenoble, returning to the third tier after 3 seasons.[2]
On 2 July 2020 the French football federation's financial body, theDNCG, announced the end of the clubs professional status, despite them having played in Ligue 2 two years earlier.[3]
On 26 May 2023, FBBP 01 were officially relegated to Championnat National 2 for the first time in 11 years after a 3-3 draw against AS Nancy Lorraine on the last matchday.
