Flying Wild Hog Sp. z o.o. is a Polishvideo game developer based inWarsaw and founded in 2009. The company is best known for the2013 reboot ofShadow Warrior, and its 2016 sequel,Shadow Warrior 2.
Flying Wild Hog was established in 2009. The studio worked on their own Road Hog Engine, avideo game engine, which resulted in their first titleHard Reset released in September 2011.[1][2][3] In April 2012, Flying Wild Hog releasedHard Reset: Exile,[4][5][6] a free DLC forHard Reset.
In September 2013, they releasedShadow Warrior, which was published byDevolver Digital, with the sequel,Shadow Warrior 2 having been announced in 2015 for a 2016 release.[7][8]
In December 2015, Flying Wild Hog opened a new division inKraków, led by Michał Kuk.[9]
In March 2019, Flying Wild Hog was acquired by Supernova Capital, an investment firm started by the formerCEO ofSplash Damage,Paul Wedgwood, and other members from Splash Damage. The acquisition provides financial security for Flying Wild Hog to focus more on its game development.[10]
In November 2019, Flying Wild Hog were working on three video games:[11]Shadow Warrior 3 (published byDevolver Digital),Evil West (published byFocus Entertainment),[12] andSpace Punks (published byJagex).[13] All three, along withTrek to Yomi (published by Devolver Digital)[14] released in 2022. That year, the team also retired the Road Hog Engine in favor ofUnreal Engine.[15]
In November 2020,Embracer Group announced that they acquired the company throughKoch Media, which will be the parent company.[16][17]
