Florida's 8th Senate district elects one member of theFlorida Senate. The district consists of most ofVolusia County and part of northernBrevard County, in theU.S. state ofFlorida. The current senator isRepublicanTom A. Wright.
From 1849 to 1850, the district was represented byAugustus Maxwell, a futureConfederate States senator. From 1940 to 1943, and again from 1946 to 1954, the district was represented by futureGovernor of FloridaLeRoy Collins.
Threepresidents of the Florida Senate have represented the district:Lew Brantley,Ander Crenshaw, andJim King.
