Florida's 2nd House district elects one member of theFlorida House of Representatives. The district is represented byAlex Andrade. This district is located in theFlorida Panhandle and encompasses part of theEmerald Coast. The district covers the southern portion ofEscambia County and a small part ofSanta Rosa County. The district is anchored onPensacola, its largest city, and contains part of itsmetropolitan area. As of the 2010 census, the district's population is 155,932.[1][2]
This district containsNaval Air Station Pensacola andPensacola International Airport. The district also containsPensacola State College andPensacola Christian College, both located in Pensacola.
There was a vacancy between March 13, 2013 and March 4, 2014 due to the death of incumbentClay Ford.Mike Hill, the president of theNorthwest FloridaTea Party, won a special election to fill the seat.
