Flocarline (foaled 1900) was an Americanthoroughbredracehorse. She was sired byAugust Belmont'sstakes winnerSt. Florian, out of the King Ban mare, Carline.[1]
Flocarline is best known as the firstfilly to ever win thePreakness Stakes. She did it in a time of 1:444/5 with William Gannon aboard by a half length over Mackey Dwyer and Rightful.
At three, she placed second in theBroadway Stakes and theEnglewood Stakes and third in theSheridan Stakes.
Flocarline was exported to France in 1910.[2] As a broodmare, she foaledstakes winner Master Robert, who placed second toFair Play in theJerome Handicap.
There was a 11/16 mile Flocarline Handicap named for her atPimlico Race Course.
