Flavigny-sur-Moselle (French pronunciation:[flaviɲisyʁmɔzɛl]) is acommune in theMeurthe-et-Moselledepartment in north-easternFrance. On the night of 10–11 September 1944, the bridge across the riverMoselle and the adjacent canal near the commune were the site of a fierce battle betweenAmerican soldiers of the134th Infantry Regiment,35th Infantry Division, andGerman soldiers of the15th Panzergrenadier Division.[3]
