Finn Bennett (born 1999) is a British actor known for his roles in theHBO seriesTrue Detective: Night Country (2024) andA Knight of the Seven Kingdoms (2026). He won aTrophée Chopard at the2025 Cannes Film Festival.
Finn Bennett was born in 1999 atHomerton University Hospital in Hackney, London,[1] the son ofRonan Bennett, an Irish novelist and screenwriter, andGeorgina Henry, a British journalist. He also has Belgian heritage through his maternal grandmother, Annette Duvivier.[2][3] Bennett attended school in London, and on Saturdays took drama classes atStagecoach Performing Arts inIslington.[4] Instead of going on to university, he had various jobs until bookingDomina.[5]
Bennett began his career as a child actor, making his television debut in a 2010 episode of theITV detective dramaFoyle's War, as a young version ofAndrew Scott's character. This was followed by a 2013 guest appearance in theChannel 4 crime dramaTop Boy.[6] He appeared in the 2015BBC One television film adaptation ofLaurie Lee's memoirCider with Rosie. He had a recurring role as Ewen in the first series ofLiar in 2017. The following year, he played Simon Warner in the Channel 4 crime dramaKiri and made a guest appearance in an episode of theSky One comedy-dramaSick of It.[1]
In 2019, Bennett made his feature film debut with a small role inWilliam Nicholson's dramaHope Gap. Bennett returned to television in 2021 when he portrayedMarcellus in theSky Atlantic seriesDomina. That same year, he appeared in the horror filmA Banquet.[7]
In September 2022, Bennett was cast as Peter Prior on thefourth season of the HBO anthology seriesTrue Detective, subtitledNight Country,[8] which premiered on 14 January 2024.[9][10][4] He had roles in theNetflix seriesBlack Doves (2024) and inAlex Garland's filmWarfare (2025).[11][12]
On 18 June 2024, it was confirmed that Bennett would join the cast ofA Knight of The Seven Kingdoms asAerion Targaryen.[13] The series premiered on 18 January 2026 in the United States.[14]
In September 2025, Bennett signed an open pledge withFilm Workers for Palestine pledging not to work with Israeli film institutions "that are implicated ingenocide and apartheid against the Palestinian people."[15]
