English: The coat of arms incorporates several significant elements. It features a half-rising eagle, which is taken from the coat of arms of the city of Hildesheim. A rose is included, symbolizing the famous 1000-year-old rosebush at Hildesheim Cathedral. The stag's antlers in the design are derived from the old district coats of arms of Alfeld and Hildesheim-Marienburg, which were later incorporated into the district of Hildesheim. These former districts' coats of arms contained a stag and a stag's head, respectively. The color scheme of gold and red used in the coat of arms represents the traditional colors associated with both the diocese and the city of Hildesheim. | ||||||
