Fidel Corrales Jimenez (born July 7, 1987) is a Cuban-Americanchess grandmaster.

Chess career

In 2009 Jimenez shared first place withAlexander Shabalov in theAmerican Continental Chess Championship.[1]

He played in theChess World Cup 2009 andChess World Cup 2011, in both cases representing the Cuban Chess Federation, being defeated byAlexander Areshchenko andJudit Polgár, respectively, in the first rounds. In 2023, Jimenez won theWorld Chess Open in Philadelphia.

Personal life
