Ferdinand Kowarz (23 February 1838,Planá – 22 September 1914,Františkovy Lázně), was aBohemian-Austrianentomologist who described many newspecies ofDiptera mainly from central Europe

Kowarz was a post office official. To supplement his income he sold collections of Diptera to others in the same field.
