Fenwick is a small village andcivil parish in theCity of Doncaster,South Yorkshire, England, on the border withNorth Yorkshire. It was part of theWest Riding of Yorkshire until 1974. It is located at an elevation of around 6 metres (20 ft) abovesea level and had a population of 121 at the2011 Census,[1] a slight increase from 113 at the2001 Census.[2] The northern boundary of the parish is marked by theRiver Went.
The name Fenwick derives from theOld Englishfennwīc meaning 'trading settlement on thefen'.[3]
