Felbinac (INN, orbiphenylylacetic acid) is atopical medicine,[1] belonging to the family of medicines known asnonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) of the arylacetic acid (not arylpropionic acid) class, which is used to treat muscle inflammation andarthritis.[2] It is an active metabolite offenbufen.[3]
The α-methyl acid of felbinac is calledbiprofen and is used to preparebifepramide. The α-ethyl acid is calledxenbucin which is used to makexenthiorate.
