Fejervarya multistriata (common name:Hong Kong paddy frog or simplypaddy frog) is aspecies offrog in the familyDicroglossidae.[2][3] It is found in southernChina (fromYuannan toGuangdong andHainan) and inTaiwan, but its range likely extends toVietnam,Laos,Thailand, and Myanmar.[3]
The taxonomy ofFejervarya multistriata and related frogs in China is complicated and not fully settled. What was formerly referred to asFejervarya limnocharis is now considered to consist of the more southernFejervarya multistriata and the more northernFejervarya kawamurai. Accounts onFejervarya limnocharis represent eitherFejervarya multistriata orFejervarya kawamurai, whereas accounts onFejervarya multistriata could representFejervarya kawamurai[3] described as late as in 2011.[4]
