Federico Cinà (born 30 March 2007) is an Italiantennis player. He has a career-high singles ranking of world No. 323, achieved on 5 May 2025 and a doubles ranking of No. 627, achieved on 26 August 2024.[1][2]
FromPalermo, he is coached by his father Francesco Cinà, the former coach of Italian tennisGrand Slam winnerRoberta Vinci.[3] His mother is named Susanna. He is a member of CT Vela Messina and trains at the Cinà Tennis Institute.[4]
He reached the final of thePetit As tournament in 2021, where he lost to Czech player Maxim Mrva.[5][6] In 2022, alongside Lorenzo Angelini and Lorenzo Carboni, he reached the final of the European under-16 team championship.[7]
In March 2025 he reached his first Challenger final at the2025 Crete Challenger II after defeatingAslan Karatsev in straight sets and became the first tennis player born in 2007 to reach a Challenger final.[11] In the final he lost toDimitar Kuzmanov in straight sets.[12][13] In March 2025, he was awarded a wildcard into the2025 Miami Open for his ATP Tour and Masters debuts.[14] Ranked No. 441, he recorded his first ATP Tour win in straight sets over qualifier and also Masters debutantFrancisco Comesaña, becoming the first player born since 2007 to win an ATP Masters 1000 main draw match. As a result he moved 70 positions up in the singles rankings at world No. 371 on 31 March 2025.[15][16] In April 2025, he received a wildcard into the2025 Mutua Madrid Open where he defeatedColeman Wong in straight sets for his second win at the Masters 1000 level.[17]
