On 21 February 2013, a series ofcar bombs were detonated inDamascus, killing 83 people.[1] The largest and deadliest of the bombs occurred near the headquarters ofSyria's rulingBa'ath Party and theRussian Embassy,[2] killing at least 60. Most of the victims were civilians[3] including children.[4]
