Argentine footballer and manager
Favio Leandro Orsi (born 18 February 1974) is an Argentine footballmanager and former player who played mainly as amidfielder . He is the current head coach ofPlatense along withSergio Gómez .
Born inPilar, Buenos Aires ,[ 1] River Plate andPlatense , also featuring with the first team of the latter. He also representedEstudiantes de Buenos Aires in his home country before moving to Finland in 1997 withFC Jazz ,[ 2] Veikkausliiga matches.[ 3]
Orsi retired in 2000, after struggling for two years with aknee injury while playing for an Italian club, but returned to action for a brief period in 2010 withPilar FC .[ 4] [ 5]
In 2012, Orsi moved toFénix to join the coaching staff ofOscar Santángelo , and metSergio Gómez (who was also a part of the staff).[ 6] [ 7]
In June 2014, Orsi and Gómez were appointed in charge ofDeportivo Español .[ 8] [ 9] Flandria in August 2015,[ 10] Primera B Nacional in their first season in charge, after winning thePrimera B Metropolitana .[ 11]
On 2 May 2018, after Flandria'srelegation , both Orsi and Gómez left the side,[ 12] Almagro on 5 June.[ 13] [ 14] San Martín de Tucumán on 8 May 2019.[ 15]
Dismissed by San Martín on 6 April 2021,[ 16] Ferro Carril Oeste on 20 July.[ 17] [ 18]
On 10 April 2022, Orsi and Gómez were appointed managers ofPrimera División sideGodoy Cruz , in the place ofDiego Flores .[ 19] [ 20]
On 3 July 2023, Orsi and Gómez were named in charge ofAtlético Tucumán also in the top tier.[ 21] [ 22] [ 23]
