Farrukhnagar Railway Station is a small railway station inGurugram district,Haryana. Its code isFN. It servesFarrukhnagar city. The station consists of one platform. The platform is not well sheltered. It lacks many facilities including water and sanitation.[1]
Farrukhnagar lies on a branch line which was laid in 1901 toGarhi Harsaru railway station fromFarrukhnagar onRajputana–Malwa Railway, For many years, themetre-gauge railway line was used to transport salt bysteam locomotives and was closed in 2004 forgauge conversion. The convertedbroad-gauge track became operational in 2011. There has been a demand to extend the track toJhajjar where it will joinRewari–Jhajjar–Rohtak railway line.[2]
Currently[when?] six trains originate and terminate fromFarrukhnagar which connects cities like Delhi,Saharanpur, Garhi Harsaru which main junction near the city.[3][4][5]
The station was the terminus for India's first ACT1 double decker freight train fromPenukoda inAndhra Pradesh on 6 February 2025. The train carried 264SUV's in 33wagons.[6]
