Farikah (Arabic:فريكة, also spelledFrikka,Freike,Freikeh orFuraykah) is a village in northernSyria, administratively part of theHama Governorate, located north ofHama. It is situated in theGhab plain. Nearby localities includeShathah andNabl al-Khatib to the south,al-Amqiyah Tahta andal-Ankawi to the east,al-Ziyarah to the northeast andSirmaniyah to the north. According to theSyria Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Farikah had a population of 2,497 in the 2004 census.[1] Its inhabitants are predominantlyAlawites.[2]
Government forces and rebels contested Farikah throughout July 2015.[3]
