Fanuankuwel is a "place of a whale with two tails"[1] location inPacific andPolynesian mythology, recorded in the traditionalcelestial navigation techniques of theCaroline Islands. Part of theTrigger fishes tied together mnemonic-navigational system, it is sometimes grouped withKafeŕoor as a 'ghost island'.[2][1]
Kafeŕoor is a mythical vanishing island, Nalikáp and Nókitikiit are big waves, Máŕipeŕip (which means "small pieces") is a very large, destructive whale, and Fanuankuwel is the place of a whale with two tails.
