Fanac is afan slang term (fromfannishactivities) for activities within the realm ofscience fiction fandom, and occasionally used inmedia fandom.[1] It may be distinguished fromfan labor in that "fanac" includes the publication ofscience fiction fanzines of the traditional kind (i.e., not primarily devoted tofan fiction), and the organization and maintenance ofscience fiction conventions andscience fiction clubs.

"Fanac" has also been used as a title for at least two science fiction fanzines, one published byTerry Carr andRon Ellik, and later continued byWalter H. Breen, in the late 1950s through early 1960s; and the other published bySwedish fanJohn-Henri Holmberg from 1963 to 1994.
