[edit]

The FN 510 is a striker-fired handgun with astainless steel slide withferritic nitrocarburizing finish and a polymer frame. Black andflat dark earth (FDE) colorings are available. Barrel length is 4.1 inches (100 mm) for the Standard Full Size (MRD) model & 4.71 inches (120 mm) for the Tactical model. Theslide has serrations on both front and back, for easy slide manipulation. There is a full-sizedgrip, housing 15-roundmagazines; 10-round magazines are available for states with ahigh-capacity magazine ban.

The backstrap of the grip accepts interchangeable inserts; one arched and one flat. Instead of a manual safety, the 510 includes anintegrated trigger safety (the articulated trigger type like theFN FNS) as part of its four passive safety systems: a striker block, adrop safety, atrigger disconnect and a trigger safety lever.[3]
