Everlasting is the eleventh studio album by American singerNatalie Cole, released on June 14, 1987 byManhattan Records. The album was certifiedgold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Cole earned a nomination forBest Female R&B Vocal Performance at the1988 Grammy Awards.[2]

The duoThe Calloways contributed to the tracks "Jump Start", acover ofBruce Springsteen's "Pink Cadillac", and "I Live for Your Love". Also included are theBacharach andBayer Sager songs "In My Reality" and "Split Decision". Acover of "When I Fall in Love" and "More Than the Stars" featuresJosé Feliciano on vocals and guitar.

Commercial reception

Released in June 1987,Everlasting peaked at the No. 8 on US Top R&B Albums, No. 42 on theBillboard 200, and No. 9 on New Zealand Albums chart. It’s lead single "Jump Start" hit No. 2 on US R&B Songs chart and No. 13 on the USHot 100. The second single, "I Live for Your Love", was a top 5 hit on the US R&B and Adult Contemporary chart.

"Pink Cadillac" was released as the third single and a top 5 on the Hot 100, top 10 on R&B Songs and topped the US Dance Songs chart. It hit top 5 in the UK, New Zealand, Ireland, Switzerland, Germany and top 10 in Denmark, Finland, and Australia.[3][4]
