Eutylone (also known asβ-keto-1,3-benzodioxolyl-N-ethylbutanamine,bk-EBDB, andN-ethylbutylone) is astimulant andempathogenicdrug of thephenethylamine,amphetamine,phenylisobutylamine, andcathinone families which was developed in the 1960s,[3][4] which is classified as adesigner drug.[5] It was first reported to theEMCDDA in 2014 and became widespread internationally in 2019-2020 following bans on the related compoundephylone.[6][7][8][9] It is a synthetic cathinone.[9] In 2021, eutylone was the most common cathinone identified by the Drug Enforcement Administration in the United States.[10]

Sweden's public health agency suggested classifying eutylone as a hazardous substance, on September 25, 2019.[11]
In the United States Eutylone is considered a schedule 1 controlled substance as apositional isomer ofPentylone.[12][13]
