Esper Lass first appeared inSuperboy Starring the Legion of Super-Heroes #212 (October 1975), and was created byJim Shooter andMike Grell.

Fictional character biography

Meta Ulnoor is fromTitan, the moon ofSaturn, in the 30th century. Like other natives of Titan (including LegionnaireSaturn Girl), she is a natural telepath. After being rejected for membership in theLegion of Super-Heroes due to a rule prohibiting members with duplicate powers, she joins a group of fellow rejects and demands membership. Calling themselves the "Legion of Super-Rejects", they are initially victorious over their like-powered rivals. Esper Lass and the Super-Rejects are eventually defeated.[1][2]

Esper Lass later appears as a member of theLegion of Super-Villains.[3] InFinal Crisis: Legion of 3 Worlds, she attacks Saturn Girl alongsideSaturn Queen, but is defeated by the Saturn Girl ofEarth-Prime.[4][5]

Powers and abilities

Like other natives of Titan, Esper Lass was born with a number ofpsychic powers. She can read minds, and exert some mental control over others. In her initial appearance, Esper Lass proves to have stronger powers than Saturn Girl, who she is able to overpower.[1]

In other media

Esper Lass appears inLegion of Super Heroes, voiced byTara Strong.[6] This version is anextortionist and assassin who masquerades as a superhero and member of the Light Speed Vanguard before being exposed.
