Erythrogenys is a genus ofscimitar babblers, junglebirds with long downcurved bills. These are birds of tropicalAsia.

Taxonomy

The genusErythrogenys was introduced in 1930 by the British ornithologistE. C. Stuart Baker. He specified thetype species asPomatorhinus erythrogens that had been described in 1831 byNicholas Vigors.[2][3] The genus name combines theAncient Greek ερυθρος/eruthros meaning "red" with γενυος/genuos meaning "cheek".[4]
