Ergene (Turkish:Ergene Nehri;Greek:Εργίνης;Eryinis,Ancient Greek:Ἀγριάνης,Agriánēs) is a major lefttributary of theMaritsa (Meriç) river, flowing entirely in theEast Thrace region ofTurkey.

The river rises from the southern part ofStrandzha mountain, not far from theBlack Sea and flows for 281 km before entering the Maritsa near the Turkish city ofİpsala, with part of its lower course canalized.[1] Its drainage basin has an area of 11,016 km2.[2]

Major settlements along the river includeUzunköprü,Pehlivanköy,Çerkezköy andMuratlı.
