Set of mythological Greek characters

InGreek mythology,Epopeus (/ɪˈppəs/;Ancient Greek:Ἐπωπεύς,romanizedEpōpeús,lit.'all-seer', derived fromἐπωπάω (epōpáō, "to look out", "observe"), fromἐπί (epí, "over") andὄψ (óps, "eye")) was the name of the following figures:

  • Epopeus, king ofSicyon.[1]
  • Epopeus, king ofLesbos and both father and rapist ofNyctimene.[2]
  • Epopeus, one of the sailors who tried to deludeDionysus, but were turned into dolphins.[3]
  • Epopeus, a man fromLemnos, killed by the Lemnian women when they murdered all the men in the island. Epopeus was killed by his own mother.[4]
