Enyne

Any organic compound containing a C=C and C≡C bond

Anenyne is anorganic compound containing aC=Cdouble bond (alkene) and aC≡Ctriple bond (alkyne).[1] It is called aconjugated enyne when the double and triple bonds areconjugated.

The term is a portmanteau of the termsalkene andalkyne.

The simplest enyne isvinylacetylene.[2]

Some examples of enynes found in nature areisanolic acid andexocarpic acid.
