Enrique ChediakASC (born June 7, 1967) is an Ecuadoriancinematographer, who works mostly in American features.[1][2]
He was nominated for theBAFTA Award for Best Cinematography for his work on127 Hours (2010).
Chediak was born inQuito,Ecuador. He studiedcommunication science inSantiago de Chile andphotography inMadrid before studying film atNew York University[3] from 1992 to 1996.
His first film as cinematographer wasAmerican Southern—released in 1995 and directed by John Joshua Clayton.
Throughout the late 1990s and 2000s, he worked on other indie films likeThe Faculty (1998),Boiler Room (2000),The Safety of Objects (2001),Brown Sugar (2002), andA Home at the End of the World (2004). He shot his first film in his native Ecuador, the thrillerCrónicas, in 2004.
In 2007, he shot the horror film28 Weeks Later. His work impressed executive producerDanny Boyle, who hired him to shoot his film127 Hours (2010), collaborating with his usual cinematographerAnthony Dod Mantle. The two earned multiple accolades, including aBritish Academy Film Award nomination forBest Cinematography.
