Enjoy Records was arecord label owned and operated byBobby Robinson from 1962[1] through the mid-1980s, and was run out of his record shop at125th Street and 8th Ave. inHarlem. Starting withblues,R&B, androck and roll, the label recorded many of the originalold-school hip hop groups andMCs, includingGrandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, theFunky 4+1,Spoonie Gee, and theTreacherous Three, beginning in 1979.[2] The label closed down in 1987, although Robinson's shop remained opened.
