Emma Jean Bell[1] (born December 17, 1986) is an American actress, best known for her role as Parker O'Neal in the filmsFrozen andHatchet II (both 2010), as Molly Harper inFinal Destination 5 (2011), and for playingAmy in the first and third season of theAMCpost apocalyptic seriesThe Walking Dead (2010; 2012), and Emma Judith Ryland Brown on theTNT drama seriesDallas (2013–2014).
Emma Bell, who was born on December 17, 1986, inWoodstown, New Jersey,[2] grew up inFlemington[3] and theStanton section ofReadington Township and attendedHunterdon Central Regional High School.[4] She moved toNew York City at the age of 16.[5][6] She attended Talent Unlimited High SchoolPerforming Arts High School on theUpper East Side ofManhattan.[6]
Her mother, Tessa Horan,[7] was a producer for60 Minutes, and her father, Robert M. "Rob" Bell,[8] owns Green Birdie Productions, a full-service video production company inLambertville, New Jersey. Her father was also a reporter, videographer and writer-producer forWWOR-TV.[9] Her brother, Chase Sterling Bell,[10] is a musician. Her paternal grandparents areEnsign Charles Robert Bell[11] and Elise Emma Stone,[12] aDaughter of the American Revolution. Both aregraduates ofSwarthmore College in 1939. Her grandfather is also graduated from the Naval Supply School,Harvard University in 1941. Her grandparents married inBrooklyn on a Sunday, September 14, 1941.[13] Her aunt is Jean Elise Bell.[14] Her great-grandparents wereLieutenant Mead Wilmer Stone, who fought in theFirst World War and was a co-owner of George Malvese and Company of Garden City Park, inLong Island,[15] and Lillie Seamann.[16]

Bell began her acting career in an Off-Broadway cabaret show in New York at the age of 12.[17] She made her screen debut in 2004, in the episode ofNBC drama seriesThird Watch. She later appeared onLaw & Order: Special Victims Unit, and in 2006 starred in the short-livedThe WB television seriesThe Bedford Diaries. She also appeared on such other shows asSupernatural,Law & Order, andCSI: Miami. She made her film debut in the 2007 sports drama filmGracie and also appeared inNew York City Serenade,The Favor,Death in Love, andElektra Luxx.
In 2010, Bell starred as Parker O'Neill, one of the main characters in the filmFrozen. The film has received positive reviews from critics and in same year she named one of the "55 Faces of the Future" inNylon's young Hollywood issue.[17][18] She appeared inHatchet II, in which she reprised herFrozen role in an uncredited cameo. Also in 2010, Bell portrayed the role ofAmy, the younger sister ofAndrea (Laurie Holden) in Season 1 of theAMC drama seriesThe Walking Dead.[19] In 2011, Bell starred as Molly Harper, the female lead character, in the 2011 thriller-horror filmFinal Destination 5.[20]
Bell starred in two television pilots through NBC but neither resulted in becoming full series,Reconstruction in 2011[21] andMidnight Sun in 2012.[22] In September 2012, it was announced that Bell had signed on as a series regular on the second season ofTNT's drama seriesDallas.[23][24] She played the role of Emma Judith Ryland Brown,Ann Ewing's (Brenda Strong) and Harris Ryland's (Mitch Pileggi) daughter, and Judith Brown Ryland's (Judith Light) granddaughter.[25] In 2013, Bell also starred in independent filmsLife Inside Out,Bipolar, andSee You in Valhalla.[26]
In 2016, Bell played youngEmily Dickinson in the drama filmA Quiet Passion starringCynthia Nixon.[27] She made her directing debut with short filmScratch (2016), receiving multiple Festival Awards. She later directed and wrote short filmBetween the Pines.[28] On television, she has appeared onLaw & Order: Special Victims Unit,American Horror Story: Roanoke andNCIS. She starred alongsideDan Fogler in the drama filmThe Argument directed byRobert Schwartzman.[29]
On October 6, 2018, Bell married fellow actor Camron Robertson.[30] On October 28, 2020, she gave birth to their first child, a daughter.[31] She gave birth to their second child, a son, on June 18, 2024.[32]
