Emely de Heus (Dutch pronunciation:[ˈeːməliˈɦøːs]; born 10 February 2003) is a Dutchracing driver. She currently competes for ID Racing in thePorsche Carrera Cup Germany series. De Heus is best known for her two seasons racing inF1 Academy forMP Motorsport.

Personal life

De Heus was born inMijnsheerenland, Netherlands.[1] Her father is Bert de Heus, a veteran amateur driver in the24H Seriesendurance racing championship. Her family owns and operates De Heus Tractors, based in Mijnsheerenland.[2][3] Her racing heroes growing up wereMichael Schumacher andKimi Raikkonen.[4]

De Heus is studying for a degree in software engineering.

Career

Karting

Emely de Heus competed in the 2019 and 2020Rotax Max Challenge International Trophy in karting. In 2019, she secured 4 points and finished in 27th position overall. In 2020, she improved to 23rd place with 45 points.[5] In February 2020 she won the Dutch Wintercup in Senior Karting at Berghem.[6] That same year, she amassed 239 points in the Dutch Rotax Max Senior National Championship, finishing 4th overall.[7]

F4 Spanish Championship

For the 2021 season, De Heus made her debut in single seater racing in theF4 Spanish Championship. She competed for Dutch team,MP Motorsport.[8][9]

De Heus competed in all 21 races of the season. She finished in 29th place in the drivers standings and won the 2021 Female Trophy.[10]

W Series

In early 2022, De Heus was announced as a competitor for the 2022W Series season. In February she completed a test at Inde Motorsports Ranch,Arizona and also drove at the March test atCircuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain where she completed 134 laps.[11][12] De Heus competed for Sirin Racing alongside fellow Dutch racerBeitske Visser.[13][14][15] Her best result was 10th in the first round of the season inMiami.[16]

Formula 4 UAE Championship

In January 2023, it was announced De Heus would compete in the2023 Formula 4 UAE Championship with MP Motorsport.[17] Her best finish was 21st place atKuwait Motor Town.[18]

F1 Academy

In March 2023, De Heus was announced as a driver for the brand newF1 Academy series and competed withMP Motorsport in2023.[19] De Heus won her first race in the series at Catalunya.[20][21] For2024, she re-signed with MP Motorsport and joined theRed Bull Academy Programme. She was sponsored byRed Bull GmbH andFord.[22][23]

De Heus scored her best result in the final round atAbu Dhabi, with a 4th place finish in race 1.[24] De Heus finished the season in 11th place with 29 points.[25] As a result of competing in two seasons, De Heus is ineligible to compete in the2025 championship so will depart F1 Academy to be replaced byChloe Chambers.[26][27]

Eurocup-3

Alongside her commitments in F1 Academy, De Heus joined theEurocup-3 series for seven races. Initially she joined GRS Team as a replacement driver forNikola Tsolov.[28][29] After her first two races with the team at second round of the season, De Heus would return to race for GRS Team at three further weekends atPortugal,Netherlands and at the final round of the season at theCircuit de Catalunya.[30][31]

24H Series

De Heus joined WS Racing to compete in the2025 Dubai 24 Hour racing aBMW M4 alongsideJeroen Bleekemolen, George King, Bernd Küpper and Keith Gatehouse.[32] The race is the first of two rounds of the2025 Middle East Trophy, a prequel to the 2025 24H Series season. The team retired from the race in hour eight following a car fire whilst de Heus was at the wheel.[33][34]

Porsche Carrera Cup Germany

In February 2025, De Heus announced her switch to the Porsche Carrera Cup. She will compete in the 2025 season for ID Racing.[35]
