Emanuele Del Vecchio (24 September 1934[3] – 7 October 1995[3]) was a Brazilianfootballforward, who played for theBrazil national team.
Born inSão Vicente, São Paulo, Del Vecchio started his career in 1954, defendingSantos,[4] and being part of the squad that won theCampeonato Paulista in 1955 and in 1956,[3] finishing as that competition's top goalscorer with 23 goals in 1955.[5] He then transferred to Italy, where he scored 13 goals in the 27Italian Serie A games he played forVerona.[1] Del Vecchio then played 68 Italian League games and scored 27 goals forNapoli, before moving toPadova, where he scored eight goals in 21 games.[1] After joiningMilan, he won the local league in1962,[3] and scored three goals in the nine games he played for the club.[1] Del Vecchio returned to Padova in 1962, playing four more games for the club.[6] He played sixArgentine League games and scored three goals forBoca Juniors of Argentina,[1] before returning to Brazil where he played forSão Paulo,Bangu andAtlético Paranaense before retiring.[3]
Del Vecchio played nine games and scored a goal for theBrazil national team in 1956 and 1957.[7] Among the games he played include four appearances in theSouth American Championship in1956, where the Brazilian team managed a fourth–place finish.[4] Del Vecchio played his first game on 24 January 1956, againstChile, scoring his only goal for the national team on 16 June 1957, againstPortugal.[7] He played his last game on 10 July 1957, againstArgentina.[7] Defending his country, he won theRoca Cup in 1955.[7]
