Emmanuel "Ema" Twumasi (born 18 May 1997) is a Ghanaian professionalfootballer who plays forMajor League Soccer clubFC Dallas.
Twumasi played high school soccer at theKent School inKent, Connecticut, where he was named the Connecticut Boy's SoccerGatorade Player of the Year in 2015.[2]
Twumasi played two years ofcollege soccer atWake Forest University between 2016 and 2017.[3] He left college early to sign aGeneration Adidas contract withMajor League Soccer ahead of theMLS SuperDraft.[4]
While at college, Twumasi played withUSL PDL sidesMichigan Bucks andGPS Portland Phoenix in 2017, appearing for the latter in theUS Open Cup.[5]
On 19 January 2018, Twumasi was selected 11th overall in the2018 MLS SuperDraft byFC Dallas.[6] On 2 March 2018, he was loaned toUnited Soccer League sideOklahoma City Energy.[7] He made his debut on 17 March 2018, appearing as a 60th-minute substitute in a 1–0 win overTulsa Roughnecks.[8]
On 12 June 2019, Twumasi joinedUSL Championship sideAustin Bold FC on loan until the end of the season.[9] On 6 March 2020, it was announced that the loan would be extended for the 2020 season.[10]
He was released by Dallas following their 2024 season.[11]
