Elvan Korkmaz (born 27 July 1985 inGütersloh) is a German politician of theSocial Democratic Party (SPD) who was a member of theBundestag from the state ofNorth Rhine-Westphalia from 2017 to 2021.[1]
Korkmaz became a member of the Bundestag in the2017 German federal election.[2] In parliament, she was a member of the Committee on Transport and Digital Infrastructure and the Digital Agenda Committee.[3][4]
Korkmazlost her seat in the2021 German federal election.[5] In the negotiations to form a so-calledtraffic light coalition of the SPD, theGreen Party and theFree Democrats (FDP) following the2021 German elections, she was nonetheless part of her party's delegation in the working group on digital innovation and infrastructure, co-chaired byJens Zimmermann,Malte Spitz andAndreas Pinkwart.[6]
Since 2022, Korkmaz has been working at public affairs agency Gauly in Berlin.[7]
Korkmaz is of ethnicTurkish origin.[10][11]
