Elsterwerda (German pronunciation:[ˌɛlstɐˈvɛʁda];Lower Sorbian:Wikow) is a town in theElbe-Elster district, in southwesternBrandenburg,Germany. It is situated on theBlack Elster river, 48 km northwest ofDresden, and 11 km southeast ofBad Liebenwerda.
