Elizabeth Macarthur High School (abbreviated asEMHS) is agovernment-fundedco-educational dual modality partiallyacademically selective andcomprehensivesecondaryday school, located inNarellan Vale, an outersouth-western suburb ofSydney,New South Wales, Australia.
Named in honour ofElizabeth Macarthur, wife ofJohn Macarthur, both Australian agricultural pioneers, the school was established in 1988 and caters for approximately 1,300 students fromYear 7 toYear 12, including approximately 70indigenous students.[1]
The school provides agriculture as a school subject.[2] The school has an established performance in livestock shows, such as the Camden Show and theRoyal Easter Show.[3]
On 21 June 2019, the school was evacuated due to an unspecified police operation.[4] It was discovered that the reason for the evacuation was abomb threat. An additional bomb threat was called in on 28 October 2020 in an attempt to delay the scheduledHigher School Certificate examinations.[5]
