Elijah Ari (born 6 November 1987), sometimes also known asElijah Aryee, is a professional footballer who plays as adefender, forUp Country Lions in theSri Lanka Champions League. Born in Ghana, he moved to Central Asia in 2007, and played three seasons in Kyrgyzstan forDordoi Bishkek. From 2013 he represented theKyrgyzstan national team internationally, making eight appearances in two years.
The Ghanaian born Ari started his career inDordoi Bishkek where he played three seasons and acquiredKyrgyzstani citizenship. He then spent one season withVakhsh Qughonteppa in neighboringTajikistan. He then played forBowsher Club, in Oman.[1]
On 31 March 2020, Ari was announced as part ofDushanbe-83's squad for the2020 season.[2] Ari left Dushanbe-83 during the 2020 season's summer transfer window, having not played for the club.[3]
