In 1943, BritishAvro Lancaster aircraft were equipped withchaff in order to blind enemyair defence radars. They were supplemented by specially-equipped aircraft flown byNo. 100 Group RAF, which operated modifiedHalifaxes,Liberators andFortresses carrying variousjammers such asCarpet,Airborne Cigar,Mandrel,Jostle, andPiperack.[2]
