Northumberland and Hunter was anelectoral district for theLegislative Assembly in theAustralian state ofNew South Wales from 1856 to 1859,[1] in theNewcastle area and named afterNorthumberland County and theHunter River. It elected three members, with voters casting three votes and the first three candidates being elected. For the1859 election it was replaced byNorthumberland and the remainder was divided betweenHunter andLower Hunter.[2]
