TheGovernor of South Dakota is elected every 4 years.[3]Kristi Noem, the incumbent Governor, was elected in2018 with 51.0% of the vote,[4] and re-elected in2022 with 61.9% of the vote.[5] She is the first female governor of the state.[6] Republicans have controlled the governorship since1979.
