Eleanor Joy DodsonFRS (néeMacPherson) is an Australian-born biologist who specialises in the computational modelling of proteincrystallography.[2][3]She holds a chair in the Department of Chemistry at theUniversity of York.[4]She is the widow of the scientistGuy Dodson.
She was bornEleanor MacPherson in rural Australia, the daughter of Scottish farmers. In 1958, she graduated with a degree in mathematics and philosophy from theUniversity of Melbourne.[1][5]
She was married to fellow scientistGuy Dodson until his death in 2012. They have four children: Vicki, Richard, Philip and Tom.[1]
