El Mirage (corruption ofEl Miraje,Spanish for "The Mirage") is anunincorporated community in the westernVictor Valley of theMojave Desert, withinSan Bernardino County,California.
El Mirage is next to theEl Mirage Lake, a dry lake bed, and 12.5 miles (20.1 km) northwest ofAdelanto.
El Mirage has ahot desert climate (BS) typical of Southern California's interior with hot, dry summers and cool winters.

El Mirage School, a K-8 Campus, is operated by neighboringAdelanto Elementary School District. Students in the upper grades attend High School inVictor Valley Union High School District, including Adelanto High School.
