Eduardo Maciel de Barros (born 8 March 1985) is a Brazilianfootballcoach and former player who played as amidfielder. He is the current head coach ofCuiabá.

Career

Born inCampinas,São Paulo, Barros began his career withPaulínia, working from the under-11s to the under-19s before moving toNovorizontino in 2012.[1] He then worked atAtlético Paranaense's under-13 squad andCoritiba's under-19s before being appointedFernando Diniz's assistant atAudax on 9 December 2015.[2]

Barros continued to work with Diniz in the following years, being his assistant atOeste, Audax and Atlético.[3] In June 2018, as Diniz was sacked, Barros remained at Atlético, being namedKelly's assistant at the under-23 side. The following 8 March, however, he was appointed coach of the under-19s.[4]

On 5 November 2019, Barros was named interim coach of the main squad in theSérie A, after the departure ofTiago Nunes.[5] His first professional match occurred the following day, a 0–0 home draw againstCruzeiro.

On 4 December 2019, Barros was confirmed as coach of the under-23s for the ensuingCampeonato Paranaense.[6] He returned to an interim status after the dismissal ofDorival Júnior, but was released by the club on 22 October 2020.[7]

On 4 February 2021, Barros was namedMarquinhos Santos' assistant atJuventude, newly promoted to the top tier.[8] In 2022, he rejoined Diniz's staff atFluminense, and subsequently worked as his assistant at theBrazil national team andCruzeiro.

On 23 February 2025, Barros became the head coach ofSérie B sideAmazonas.[9] Despite winning the year'sCampeonato Amazonense, he was sacked on 19 April, after two losses in the first three league matches of the season.[10]

On 11 August 2025, Barros replacedGuto Ferreira at the helm ofCuiabá also in the second division.[11]
